Specimen Size: 13" tall by 2" in diameter
Hildewintera hybrid 'Traisenglück' Has 2-1/2" TO 3" inch diameter blooms with pink to peachy-rose colored inner petals, short petals, funnel form, filaments are magenta to reddish-orange, stamen is yellow-cream colored. Outer petals are longer, fully recurving in an orange to orange-tan color with a narrow light orange mid-stripe, often has a pink overcast on petal edges usually near base. A cross of HWH 'Helm`s Neue' x HWH 'Andenken an Friedrich Ritter' (Hyb.#BUM73.00-1). Hybridized by Dr.Irmfried Buchmann.
Notes: Good grower. Blooms profusely on stems 12" or longer in length. Beautiful pendant or waterfall type growth form, blooms spectacularly on longer hanging stems.Coloration of this variety can vary greatly depending on light & fertilizer given, sometimes the pink inner petals can bleed thru to the base of the outer petals normally orangish coloration making the blooms overall seem more pink colored and at other times the outer petals orange coloration can bleed into the inner petals-(see pictures below-same plant), stamen color & petal form does not change though. Another characteristic of this variety is the light green flower buds when forming, there also held tight to the stem growth with almost no tube- if you look close at the photos in this series you can notice them as protruding bumps.
Growth: Stem growth is dark green to lighter green colored, stem growth averages 1" to 1-1/4" diameter, multi-ribbed, cylindrical type growth. Spination is in a tight grouping with many short light yellow spines. Compact grower that is pendant in growth form.
